Bags, Purses, & Totes

This fun bag uses 5" squares or Charm Packs. It is a great size with lots of possibilities. The bag is fully lined with pockets and lots of room. Add fun buttons or ties to the sides to personalize your bag. Come chose your colors and fabrics and Ladybugz will cut your 5" squares for you and you'll be set to start your fun bag. The Chubby Charmer bag is an all around great utility bag, from going on a trip, to pot lucks, and will hold a 9 X 12 casserole dish and more. The bag is 14" tall X 18" wide & 10" deep. Come see the sample bag in the shop.

Craft

This little guy is going to be the highlight of your Halloween decorating! Come and make some fun. Not sure if we will be using chenille sock, haven't seen any in the stores. Or we might use Halloween socks. If neither can be found, we will supply a fabric body. Supplies: We will provide stuffing, fur for the beard, felt for the hat, orange floss and sewing needles Student brings: Scissors, glue gun and glue sticks Any Halloween decorations that you would like to add. There are two dates to choose from. Class size is limited.

Learn to make your first quilt top. Everything you need to know to make a beautiful quilt from choosing the right tools and materials to adding the final touches to your finished creation. Total of eight classes

Do you have fabrics in your stash that you look at and say "what was I thinking when I bought that" or maybe just some you're tired of looking at. Well, Dianna has a way for you to get rid of some of it while doing a fun block exchange. Ladybugz will open their scrap/stash drawers for some extra fun as well. We'll do a fun easy block that will also use up all of those bobbins that don't match anything you're working on now. You will need your machine, those bobbins that need to be emptied, scissors with points, and your fabrics. You'll re-learn all of your bad sewing habits and your best kindergarten cutting skills. Come have fun and we will laugh with each other.

Want or need a fun fast project for Christmas that can be personalized as well. These stockings are perfect. Make them as scrappy or as detailed or as simple as you want. Bring your scraps and trade or share with others. Our classes last year had a great time making the stockings. You will be able to get multiples done before the holidays.

Create a tree skirt or table topper using a 9 degree ruler. Laura has a couple of designs to choose from. Come let Laura show you how to create a stunning tree skirt. Have lots of Christmas scraps? Make a scrappy one. We have samples in the shop of multiple ways to put these together. The first class session is working with fabric choices, with Laura's expert guidance, and cutting your pieces. The second day is sewing and watching how it will all come together.

Do you love seeing Christmas Trees on display in the windows at Christmas time? Then this is the class for you. Create your own Christmas tree in the window. This popular pattern comes to life with Carolyn's instruction and creative assistance. This class has filled multiple times just from the sample hung in the store. So reserve your spot, class size is limited.

This gorgeous quilt is Super Beginner Friendly! Colorful Trip Around the World looks difficult but is surprisingly simple. There are no "small" pieces in this quilt. Dianna will help with fabric selection, layout, and construction of this beauty. Spend a fun day creating a one of a kind beauty in the colors of your choice. Kansas Troubles , like the sample, or bright and playful, or how about a collection of batiks. No matter what your choice is your quilt top will be lovely. The first afternoon/evening is for fabric selection and layout. And then your second day is for the construction of your quilt top. After you have chosen your fabrics with Dianna, Ladybugz will cut your needed strips. We have seen some stunning quilts come from our previous classes.

Take a break for a day and come join Merri making the Daybreak Quilt. Grab a Jelly Roll and add the background and borders and let's see what we can create. Remember we can cut your 2.5" strips for you if you have an idea for fabrics but no jelly roll. This is a fun quilt to make.

We are going to have some fun for National Jelly Roll Day, September 21st. Who doesn't love the idea of pre-cut strips being turned into something wonderful and fun. Join us for a day of fun and friendship. We will have patterns exclusively designed by Moda designers for this day as well as some other fun Jelly Roll friendly patterns for purchase. So grab your sewing machine and sewing supplies and a Jelly Roll and join us for the day. Take part in the day and make a quilt top for Sleep in Heavenly Peace with your Jelly Roll and Ladybugz will quilt the completed top. You provide the top and backing, we'll provide the batting and the quilting.

Needle turn applique is exactly what the name implies. We will learn how to turn the raw edge under with the needle. The Sunbonnet Sue that we will be working on will allow you to practice stitches with straight edges, curves and inside and outside points. Yes, this technique is a 4 letter word...Hand. But come and let Dianna show you some secrets and techniques to make it easier and less daunting. Fabric & thread supplies are included with the class fee. You will need to bring a small pair of scissors with sharp points.

Save the day and save your spot. Ladybugz is hosting a New Year's Day Mystery Quilt sew day. Lunch is included. Just bring your own drinks and snacks to share. We will turn the shop into a quilt retreat for the day. So come join the fun. Supply list and initial instructions available at the shop November 15th.

We've all seen the Radiant Star, Lone Star or Texas Star. This class uses strip piecing to achieve the points of the star. We will use lots of straight pins. We will share lots of laughter and maybe a few bad words, but fun will be the order of the day. The first day/evening is for your fabric choice. Dianna will be at the shop to assist with the color choice you want, they do not have to be patriotic. Come with some ideas, some fabrics from your stash to start with or just come explore some ideas. How about some striking batiks or some Kansas Troubles, and the patriotic fabrics are wonderful too. The second say will be the construction of your quilt top. Spend some time picking your colors with Dianna and Ladybugz will cut the strip for you that you will use in the construction of your top.

Laura and Carolyn will be hosting a table runner club in 2019 for 10 months of table runners to help you build your piecing, paper piecing and applique skills. The cost is be $20 per month or if you sign up for all 10 you will get 1 month for free. Patterns when needed will be extra. This is great way to get a head start on Christmas presents or they can add a sparkle to your own table throughout the year. There is some a little hand embroidery. Applique can be done by hand or machine, both techniques will be taught. Feb. and March there is no pattern fee. Starting in February, the 3rd Saturday of the month 1pm-4pm

Beginning Paper Piecing. Learn the basics of paper piecing with a fun Christmas tree wall hanging size project. This project can easily be completed in plenty of time before the holidays. You can also add buttons and hang simple ornaments on the tree. Make one for yourself and then one as a gift. The pattern includes the paper piecing papers for two trees.

Join in a monthly adventure with the wonderful Kansas Trouble line of fabric designed by Lynn Hagmeier. Small and large projects, new techniques, new rulers, lots of learning. Monthly fee includes patterns, goodies and surprises. Pay monthly or pay in advance for a year and receive 2 months free. We will leave all of the Trouble in Kansas and have a great time at Ladybugz the first Friday of each month. Come join the fun.

Sew Steady Ruler Classes

Learn to quilt with rulers. Beginning ruler work class geared to learning to quilt with rulers for both large and small projects. Start with this class to learn the techniques and practice to become confident with the skills.

Yarn & Fibers

Soon the weather will be getting cooler and thoughts turn to Fall and Winter. Why not get a start by making a pair of mittens. The pattern for the mittens is called Zart. It is available on Ravelry and can be purchased at the store. This pattern has a lttle bit of chart work and a little bit of cable. This can be knitted on double points or Magic Loop. The pattern requires worsted yarn and 2 needles. One needs to be a size smaller than the other. Supplies required: Worsted Weight yarn (180-230 yards depending on size), 2 needles (double point) or (circular), stitch markers, scissors.

Ready to learn a something new? Come and try doing colorwork with 2 colors. It is easier than it looks. The Cathay cowl is a free pattern that would make a great gift or for you. The cowl is knitted in the round and for those that hate purling, guess what no purls. Supplies: at least 180 yds. of DK weight yarn, 2 colors. Circular needle in size 5 or 6, cord length should be at least 36, preferably 40, stitch markers. Pattern included.
